When we founded Kindred, we set out to build a completely different kind of venture firm.
We are Kindred spirits - we’ve been founders ourselves, built companies, and felt the visceral, brutal and life-affirming emotions of creating something from scratch.

We believe that every founder we back deserves to share in the upside of the entire fund, regardless of the success of their individual company. We give fund-level carry to every founder we back. When one company wins, everyone shares in that success.

Too many investors are consensus.
We believe that next decades will be defined by technologies that move atoms, not just bits – energy, biology, materials, intelligence in the physical world. But as software leaves the screen and starts interacting with reality, a second layer becomes just as important: the systems that make those technologies safe, trusted, and deployable at scale.
Most of the companies that will define that future do not exist yet. Our job is to find, fund, and fight for those founders taking those big audacious swings.

Too many people focus on the ‘what’ and not the ‘who’.
We invest in deeply technical missions, but we invest in a deeply human way. The people you build with become the people you spend years thinking with, arguing with, celebrating with, and occasionally suffering with when things inevitably get hard. What tends to matter most over time is how it feels to work together in the small moments, and who shows up when things are hard.
